Wind Car 5 (Brush Type)

Let's take a look!

What kind of experiment is this?

Experimental procedure and explanation:

  • This unique wind car has no tires. Instead, it moves on a brush. Tile brushes, which have slanted tips, are recommended for this purpose. In this experiment, a brush for cleaning window shades was modified and used. You can also bend brass wire-brush tips for this.
  • The main characteristic of the brush is that the brush tips are slanted towards the back. This feature allows the car to move forward when vibration is applied. Ultrasonic motors use a similar principle.
  • The propeller has one blade shorter than the other, and it has a relatively long axis so that it vibrates easily.
  • You may wonder whether “car” is an appropriate term for something that does not have wheels. However, linear motor cars do not have wheels but they are still called cars. Using the same logic, this could also be called a “car.”
