The symposium is intended to cover many aspects of liquid-solid flow research, including theory, experimental results, computational methods, erosion wear and fluid machinery. New concepts and innovative methods of investigation are encouraged. Liquid-solid flows are widely applied in industrial facilities and require specific experimental and computational techniques. Typical applications are in mechanical, chemical and mining processing industries, slurry transportation, paper industry, and nuclear reactors. Contributions are solicited in the following area: particle dynamics and phase interactions, two-phase flow direct numerical simulation and modeling, flow visualization, measurements with good spatial resolution, particle-wall interaction and surface phenomena, and two-phase flow in fluid machinery.
