The Fluid Mechanics Technical Committee (FMTC) of the ASME Fluids Engineering Division is sponsoring an International Symposium with the focus on Issues and Perspectives in Turbulent Flows for the ASME Fluids Engineering Division Summer Meeting. The Symposium seeks fundamental research contributions to the turbulent flows. Papers enhancing our understanding of turbulent flows are sought in areas that include, but are not limited to:
- Turbulent jets and wakes
- Mixing layers
- Wall bounded flows
- Coherent structures
- Atmospheric turbulence
- Turbulence modeling
- Mixing and heat transfer by turbulence
- High Schmidt number reacting turbulent flows
- Turbulence control
Papers presenting and discussing issues and challenges associated with the investigation of turbulent flows from analytical, experimental and/or numerical perspectives are encouraged. It may include difficulties associated with acquiring, presenting, analyzing, and interpreting experimental and/or computational results. Papers advancing the understanding of physical processes associated with the turbulent flows and the contributions of advanced knowledge to the practical applications are also encouraged.
