Preface

The 20th Dreams of Flow Contest was held at Waseda University on Sunday, August 7th, 2022. Usually, it is held at the same time as the Fluid Engineering Conference, but this year it was held as part of the Mechanical Day event.

It was the first face-to-face event held in three years due to COVID-19, and very interesting presentations and demonstrations were made by seven teams. This time, in addition to the Grand Prize, the First Place Award, and the Ichiju Award, a new Kanto Branch Award has been added. This newsletter was written by Dr. Motohiko Nohmi at Ebara Corporation, the chairman of the executive committee of Dreams of Flow Contest, and 4 award winning teams. This article shows young students doing their best even in the midst of COVID-19. Through this article, I hope that many people will be able to know about the activities of the Fluid Engineering Division and help to increase our activities. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the writers who provided us with articles on the special issue.
