(Diffusion and prevention of misperceptions regarding fluid mechanics)
Abstract

Many of the phenomena and experiments related to fluid mechanics are mysterious, and are widely covered in introductory science books and information on the internet. However, there are many cases where the principle is misunderstood. Such misperceptions have long been seen in physics textbooks and have a history of being widely communicated and disseminated over a long period of time. Mistakes in the wing principle and misapplication of Bernoulli's theorem are typical examples. This report investigates the nature of such misperceptions. How they were transmitted and diffused is considered. As a result, methods are proposed to prevent such misperceptions. In particular, the role of academic societies is important.
